Southern Water are hosting a drop in session to meet the Clean Rivers and Seas Task Force and the teams working in your area to reduce storm overflows, protect bathing water and promote a nature positive Portsmouth.

On: Thursday 8 October 2025, 5pm–8pm
At: The Havelock Community Centre, 324 Fawcett Road, Southsea PO4 0LQ

What will the drop-in event involve?

This session will provide an opportunity to discuss the planned works, raise any concerns, and view the proposed plans so far.

The range of steps being considered include:

Adding more sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS)
Disconnecting surface water from the wastewater network
Repairing and sealing wastewater pipes to prevent leaks
Improving the water network to reduce leaks and provide a reliable water supply now and in the future
Using artificial intelligence to better manage the flow of water across the system.

The session will help us determine the most effective combination of solutions for each area, recognising that every community and catchment has different challenges and opportunities.
