Welcome to the world of Tiny Things from Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery. Like most museums they have thousands of objects in store which they are preserving for the future. They want to share some of them with you, but first you have find them!
The ‘Tiny Things’ are 3D printed models of objects in the collection. They are located in the part of the city where they were found, made or used. To test the idea they have hidden some in Old Portsmouth. Each one has a QR code attached to it; scan the code to unlock the story of the object, of Portsmouth, and of the city’s people through time.
When you find one, just scan the QR code using your mobile device with a QR code scanner. You’ll find out more about the object’s history, how it was discovered, and what it tells us about life in Portsmouth in the past.
Share your discoveries on social media and join the world of #tinythings. Don’t forget to tag us on Facebook and Twitter @PortsCityMuseum! Leave the Tiny Thing where you find it for the next person to discover.
