The most recent phase of the Southsea Coastal Scheme is set to commence
on Monday, October 21, between the Blue Reef Aquarium and the
Hovertravel terminal, with plans for the area to reopen in the summer of
2026.  To maintain pedestrian access during this period, a temporary
footpath has been built across Southsea Common, situated behind the
Naval War Memorial. As construction progresses, Clarence Esplanade,
along with the promenade and road, will be closed to the public, and a
detour will be established for both pedestrians and motorists. For more
information see our website:

Also, Briny will be closed for all of November but re-opens in December with their new Christmas menu!
