INEOS TEAM UK is the British Challenger for the 36th America’s Cup and is based at Camber Dock in Old Portsmouth. The sailing team – previously known as Ben Ainslie Racing – operates from the large building outlined in green on the image below.

Due to the increased draft of the AC75 yacht for the AC36 they have applied to the Marine Management Organisation for – and have been granted – a licence to dredge a section of the Camber dock, in order to allow for a safe operation for our training programme in the Solent.

The section is outlined in red on the accompanying image and they anticipate that the work will start on or around the 12th August and take approximately ten days. The area conflicts with the passage of Wightlink Ferries entering and leaving the Camber so to avoid interruptions to their sailings, there will be a requirement for some late and overnight working. This will be kept to the absolute minimum but unfortunately cannot be avoided.

They will continue to working closely with both Portsmouth City Council and Wightlink throughout the operation and the Portsmouth International Ports Harbourmaster will also communicate with mariners and users of the Camber.
