The Christmas Market is part of the Cathedral’s Christmas festivities and is held on the Cathedral Green. It is inspired by traditional German Christmas markets and attracts close to half a million visitors each year. The pretty wooden chalets are situated in the Cathedral’s historic Close surrounding an open-air real ice rink. All exhibitors have been hand-picked for their interesting, high quality and unique products many of which can’t be bought on the high street. The market has a British crafts section and there is also a nativity scene as part of the market. Entrance to the market is free but there may be a charge in some of the city’s other attractions.
